Welcome to Sunmount House

Sunlit adobe entryway with a wooden bench, woven basket, dried grasses and an open turquoise courtyard door.

Welcome to Sunmount House, a modern Southwest home and table shop curated in Santa Fe.

Our name comes from Sunmount Sanatorium, the hillside retreat that became Santa Fe's creative gathering place in the 1920s. Poets gave readings there, and writers and artists came for the conversation. Architect John Gaw Meem set up his first studio in one of its cottages before helping define what we now call Santa Fe style. We loved the idea of a house where people, ideas and beautiful things come together, so we built one.

Here you will find ceramics, textiles, glassware, serveware and gifts chosen through a Santa Fe lens: warm, tactile and made to be used. Nothing cowboy, nothing kitschy, nothing that turns your home into a theme. Just pieces that bring a little high-desert light wherever you live.

This journal is where we will share the stories behind what we carry: how to set a Santa Fe table, the colors we keep coming back to, the makers we admire and the places we love in our corner of New Mexico.

Pull up a chair. We are glad you are here.
