Returns

Strips of hardwood on edge, glued into one block an inch and a quarter thick. The stripes are the structure, and why it stays flat.

Why We Chose It

Edge grain is the classic butcher block build at a size that still fits a normal counter and sink. Tougher than a plain board, lighter than end grain: the block for a cook who wants one without the heft. Built to order in cherry, maple or walnut.

How We'd Style It

Walnut stripes read well against a white counter; cherry warms with age. Keep the board wax nearby. Choose cherry, maple or walnut, a juice groove on top, underneath or none, and no handles, side handles or pocket handles.
