Two inches thick, two feet long, end grain all the way across. This is the block that anchors a kitchen and gets handed down.

Why We Chose It

End grain is the surface knives love: the blade slips between the standing fibers instead of across them, so edges stay sharp and the board heals itself. At 2 inches thick it is a full butcher block. Built to order in cherry, maple or walnut.

Good to Know

This block is heavy, so handles are worth having if it ever leaves the counter. End grain is thirsty: oil it often and never soak it. The pattern varies with every board.
