Wide bands of indigo, navy and a soft gray-blue, brushed to a low sheen. It looks like the best pair of jeans you ever wore out, rendered in alpaca.
Why We Chose It
The Nawi throws are handwoven in Otavalo, Ecuador by one family of four weavers, then brushed with a dried teasel head to raise the nap and bring up the glow in the fiber. This darker colorway has more navy and less cream than our Denim Blues, so it reads as a solid from across the room and a stripe up close. The edges are sewn by hand.
How We'd Style It
At 92 by 65 inches it covers a daybed or the end of a queen bed with room to spare. It is the anchor piece in our Patina Blue edit, and it loves white walls and tan leather.
Details
- 92 x 65 in (234 x 165 cm)
- 60% alpaca, 40% acrylic
- Teasel-brushed finish, hand-sewn edges
- Handwoven in Otavalo, Ecuador by a family workshop
Good to Know
The acrylic share is what holds the color and the sheen, and it makes this a sturdier daily-use throw than a pure alpaca piece. A good gift for someone who would never buy a throw for himself.
